Understanding Employee Statuses

Employees will be in one of the following four statuses.

Employee Status Definition When It Will Be Set
Pending The employee has just been added to the employer portal, and employee eligibility validation has not yet begun. This status is set by default when new employees are added to the system. Generally, it will remain in this status until the following day, when they will progress to a more descriptive status.
Ineligible

Employees will be "Ineligible" either when:

  1. Employee validation steps are underway
  2. The employee has been deemed to be ineligible through employee validation

In this status, the employee is not eligible to participate in the program.

Specifically, any of the following conditions cause an employee to be ineligible:
  1. CIP Status = "Pending" or "Not Passed"
  2. Account Status = "Closed" or "Open (On Hold)"
  3. The 30-day waiting period has not been met
  4. The employee does not meet the program’s minimum age
  5. The employee has been marked as "Terminated"
Active Employees who have met all eligibility requirements are then eligible to contribute and will be in "Active" status.

Specifically, all of the following must be true for an employee to become active:

  1. CIP Status = "Passed"
  2. Account Status = "Open"
  3. 30-day waiting period has been met
  4. The employee meets the program’s minimum age requirement

Employees in this status are eligible to participate and have contributions submitted.

Opted Out Employees who have explicitly chosen not to participate as savers in the state program will be marked as "Opted Out."
  1. Set when the employee has opted out of the program, either pre-enrollment or post-enrollment.
  2. If an employee has opted out of pre-enrollment, they are not eligible to have contributions submitted.
  3. If an employee has opted out post-enrollment, they are eligible to have contributions submitted.
